Before the pro cycling tour totally abandons Belgium this Spring, and heads to Italy for the Giro, here's one more inside look at what big-time bike racing is all about in the land of Boonen and beer. The press facilities at most major cycling events here in America are usually set up in hotel meeting rooms, school gymnasiums or temporary tents and shelters. But in Belgium, the press room for the Tour of Flanders was at the base of the historic bell tower in Bruges. And the food that was set out for the pre-race press feast was like nothing else we've ever seen. Savor a few moments of Belgian beauty, as the following CycleTo video takes you past the guards, and through the wooden doors, to the inner sanctum where the world's media eats and meets in Flanders. |
